Abbe refractometer is an instrument that can measure the refractive index and average dispersion of transparent, translucent liquids or solids. WYA-2S Abbe refractometer can measure the refractive index of various liquids such as additives, organic solvents, oil, gel, cosmetics, polymers, etc., as well as the Brix content of soft drinks, fruit juices, syrups, fruit juice concentrates, milk, wine, etc..
Digital Abbe refractometer is a precise optical instrument, the following points should be paid attention to when using it:
1. Try to protect the prism, and only use lens paper instead of filter paper to clean it. When adding the sample, the mouth of the dropper should not touch the prism surface.
2. Abbe refractometer shall not be used for corrosive liquids such as acid and alkali.
3. For each measurement, do not add too much sample, generally only 2~3 drops.
4. Please keep the instrument clean and protect the dial. After each experiment, add a few drops of acetone on the mirror and wipe it dry with lens tissue. Finally, put double layers of lens tissue between the two prisms to avoid damage to the surface.
5. When reading, sometimes the clear dividing line between light and dark cannot be observed in the eyepiece, and it is deformed, because the prisms are not filled with liquid. If there is a curved halo, it may be because the light hits the condenser lens directly without going through the prism.
6. If the refractive index of the sample to be tested is not within the range, WYA-2WAJ Abbe refractometer cannot do the measurement, and the dividing line between light and dark cannot be seen.
