Abbe refractometer is an instrument that can measure the refractive index and average dispersion of transparent and translucent liquids or solids. It is an indispensable and commonly used instrument in factories, schools and research units related to petroleum, oil, pharmaceutical, paint, food, sugar industry and geological survey.

Maintenance of Abbe digital refractometer:

1. Before and after use and when changing samples, the working surface of the refractive prism system must be cleaned first.

2. The instrument should be placed in a dry and well-ventilated room to prevent the optical parts from becoming moldy due to moisture.

3. When testing corrosive liquids, cleaning work should be done in time (including optical parts, metal parts and their surfaces) to prevent corrosion damage.

4. The sample to be tested should not have hard impurities. When testing solid samples, the surface of the refractive prism should be prevented from being roughened or indented.

5. Keep the instrument clean at all times. It is strictly forbidden to touch the optical parts with hands or sweat. If there is dust on the surface of the optical parts, use high-grade deerskin or long-fiber absorbent cotton to gently wipe it and blow dry with a hair dryer. If the surface of optical parts is stained with grease, it should be wiped clean with a mixture of alcohol and ether in time.

6. The instrument should avoid strong vibration or impact to prevent damage to optical parts and affect measurement accuracy.

7. If the bulb in the condenser lighting system is damaged, the condenser tube can be removed along the axis, replaced with a new bulb, and the left and right positions of the bulb can be adjusted so that the light is focused on the light entrance surface of the refracting prism without causing obvious deflection.

8. When the instrument is not in use, cover it with a plastic cover or place it in a box.

9. Users are not allowed to disassemble or assemble the Abbe auto refractometer condenser at will. If the condenser fails or fails to meet accuracy requirements, it should be sent for repair in time.
